Your Mission
á Research
your assigned theme and each of the four sub-themes provided. http://TeacherWeb.com/ME/HopeElementarySchool/6thGrade/links2.stm
is the website to go to. Click on
your name where you will be directed to several teacher-approved sites where
you will take notes in your sub theme packet.
á As
you research, choose two additional sub-themes- you choose one and your partner
chooses the other.
á Use
Inspiration to create a website on your theme. Each of your sub-themes should link to a different page,
giving you seven pages in all.
á Each
page should be informative, descriptive, creative, and interesting. A minimum of ten important facts should
be included on each page to meet the standard.
á This
project will be completed in school.
Adequate time will be given for research, note taking, web site
development and assessment, presentations, and completing other groupsÕ
assessments. You and your partner will be presenting your website to the class
in early June. A more
specific timeline may be provided at a later time.
Assessment
á Develop
a formal assessment for other students to complete as they visit your
website. Include a sample answer
sheet or create a rubric for scoring each assessment.
á Some
ideas are worksheets, political cartoons, essays, timelines, poems, crossword
puzzles (NO word searches), drawing diagrams, etc. Get CREATIVE when brainstorming your assessments and think
about what YOU would want to do!
á You
may choose to do one major formal assessment for your website, or smaller
assessments for the sub themes. If
you choose to do smaller assessments, each page should have a different type.
á You will be graded not only on your website but on the assessments you complete for other websites.
