Dear Hope Elementary Family,
Fall is certainly in the air this morning and with that comes a feeling of excitement for new beginnings. I can not wait for school to start and to meet all of you. I am also eager to build a relationship based on trust and support.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I will not bore you with where I am from, because it is the direction that I am moving that is important. I will also not talk about my education or credentials, but please inquire if you are interested. Instead, I want to let you know what my philosophy is in terms of a school administrator and what influences me.
It is my philosophy that all children want to do well and feel successful. In order to do so, they need to make a connection with the adults in their school. They need a sense of belonging. Although the rigor of curriculum and mastery of essential skills are critical, I believe learning should be fun and creativity should not be lost along the journey through public education. Students need to set goals and have ownership in what they learn. As educators, we should be life-long learners. In my own life, I enjoy learning every day.
Being a parent is an important influence on my educational values. This helps guide me and drives my passion for the work I do as a principal. It is the connection between you and me. Like you, I have children that are a part of Hope Elementary School and like you, I face the same parental challenges that you face.
Again, I am very excited for the journey that lies ahead and the connections along the way.
With deep appreciation for the ties that connect us, I am
Danielle S. Fagonde
